ESEDI Theatre Play Act 1 - Spain

Esedi aims to improve teaching and learning foreign languages in Europe through the development of a new material: a multilingual theater play with focus on difficulties in language learning motivation.
The play  will be performed (bilingually) in six languages, in centers from Bulgaria, France, Germany, Romania,  Russia and  Spain.
Each act of the play will illustrate the linguistic and cultural variety of Europe.

The main objectives are of the project are:

- to increase students motivation towards studying foreign languages
- to promote languages and intercultural skills with regard to future inclusión in the global market
- to promote and support personal development, social cohesion and active citizenship of participants
- to underline language learning opportunities through real-life situations

The results we obtain with Esedi short and long term are:

- a multilingual play, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF) to define the levels of language to be worked
- Representations of bilingual acts of the play in six countries
- Interactive Web page
- Publication of the play
- Editing a DVD with the recording of all activities
- Publication of a handbook of best practices
- A network for future exchanges and collaboration addressed to students and teachers
